I  watched Wish Ko Lang (a local public service program aired on Channel 7) earlier and I couldn’t help but be sad for the girl named Rui who lost her mom to cancer. She lives in her friend’s garage for a time and completed high school on her own. Whenever loneliness strikes, she would talk to her mom in prayer and asked her to give her enough strength to carry on. Her close friends send her story to Wish Ko Lang and the program will realize her dream to pursue college education.

I hope Rui’s story will serve as inspiration and eye opener to those who have the opportunity to study even those with comfortable life but doesn’t have the interest to study to value education. A lot of young people wish to be in their shoes but couldn’t afford to enter school because of poverty.
