Both teams of the prosecution and defense panel are presenting their respective arguments today as why should Chief Justice Renato Corona Jr. be held liable or acquitted for the impeachment complaint filed against him for allegedly failing to disclose to the public his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net worth as required of public officials under the law.
Since both sides are reportedly claiming different interpretation of the BSA Compliance (Bank Secrecy Act), it is now up to the decision of the Senator Judges to declare which interpretation is correct.
The verdict of the 5-month trial is expected to come out tomorrow (Tuesday, May 29, 2012).
